Realtor

This is the first thing many people think of with the real estate industry. The job of the realtor is to help the client either sell or buy the home. Mortgage Broker

These are the people that work to get financing for those buying the house. In order to work as a mortgage broker, you will need to go school for mortgage banking as well as pass certain exams to get your license. If you are transferring to this from another career, a degree in finance may be able to help you. Depending on the company you work for, there may be other requirements that you will need in order to find a career in this field, such as continuing education requirements.

The average salary for a mortgage broker is $115,000 a year. Now there are many variables that come into play here, including the location, company and experience you have.

Home Inspector

Part of buying or selling a home is having it inspected. With this, the inspector will go through and check a number of different aspects of the home to make sure they are up to code. In order to become a home inspector you will have to follow the guidelines set out by the state. In most states, this will require you to take a course and pass a test to become certified. You may also be required to take continuing education to stay abreast of the newest changes to home inspection. Average salary for a home inspector is around $51,000 a year.

Title Processing

In order for the sale of a home to close, the title needs to be processed and cleared. This is where the title processor comes in. While the requirements for this job will vary depending on the company you work with, most companies do require a degree in real estate or law. This will help you to have an understanding of the process and what is required. About every two years you will need to take continuing education courses. The average salary to expect with this career is 40,000.

There are many different things that you can do in the real estate industry. The thing to keep in mind is that people are always buying homes, which means that these careers will always needed. While the economy may be down for a little bit, which may affect the total number of jobs, this should not keep you from pursuing a career in this industry. You simply need to figure out what type of career in this field will be right for you and your desires in life.
