People are required to be proficient in the English language. They must take the IELTS test and score of 7.0. This test must be taken within two years of sending in National Police Check Application.

If English is one’s second language, then he or she will be required to take the TOEFL test. People must score a minimum of 100 on the test and a minimum of 22 on each sub-section of the test. The test must also be taken within two years of sending in the National Police Check Application.

Migration agents are required to possess a current legal practicing certificate in an Australian territory or state or possess a graduate certificate in Australian Migration Law And Practice. They will also be required to possess professional indemnity insurance.
