Some Wireless Accessories for your Smartphone

One of the things that draw mobile device users to the marketplace is the great deal of accessories available to make their mobile experience easier and more efficient. What’s more interesting is that these items don’t just come in wired forms, but also through wireless options that offer greater mobility to any given mobile device. Take a look at some of my favorites.

Nokia Wireless Charging Plate DT-900

Nokia offers a whole new way of charging mobile phones through its dedicated wireless charging plate. Compatible with Nokia’s newer Lumia phones, the science behind the accessory involves the use of the Qi wireless charging standard which transmits low power by means of induction. To use, all you have to do is put down your phone on the plate and wait until your battery charges up (a light indicator will show you that the device is fully charged). It has a minimalistic design and comes in different vibrant colors much similar to those seen on the Lumia phones.

Jawbone Jambox Wireless Bluetooth Speaker

If you’re looking for a sleek wireless speaker that connects to your device via Bluetooth, then look no further because the Jawbone Jambox Wireless Bluetooth Speaker is as stunning as it gets. This device adopted the high-end design philosophy that Jawbone has been known for. The rectangular audio accessory is covered in a wraparound metal grill with diamond-shaped geometric patterns and a non-slip rubber coating on top and at the bottom. Pair it with your phone and you’ll get a brilliant sound quality that you won’t usually find in such compact Bluetooth speakers. But be forewarned, the item doesn’t come in cheap; it can set you back by $199 apiece.

Jabra BT2080 Bluetooth Headset

Despite being marketed as a simple budget headset that’s ideal for starters (initially retailing for $39), the Jabra BT2080 can offer unmatched comfort and ease of use normally found in the higher-end Bluetooth headsets available out there. Measuring a little over two inches long and coming in a standard black-and-chrome exterior, the BT2080 features a multifunction talk button, a volume rocker, a charger jack, and a dedicated power switch. The earpiece, clad in silicone gel, fits the ears comfortably for long talks on the business phone while driving or easy music listening while lounging at the airport while waiting for your connecting flight.

Seagate GoFlex Satellite Mobile Wireless Storage

For the voracious media hog, Seagate’s GoFlex external hard drive can be a great accessory. It’s a portable HDD that has a built-in battery and a Wi-Fi access point which can connect to your mobile phone or tablet via an app, which allows you to broadcast the digital content that you store in it. It’s truly a must-have especially if you don’t want your videos, audios, and other files to gobble up the limited 16- or 32-gigabyte space available on your iPad or Galaxy S3.
